Bands

This class meets every other day during the 'A' day schedule.  The group is open to any music student who has had one or more years of study on a band instrument.  The Symphonic Band peforms Grade III and IV literature according to the Virginia Band and Orchestra Director's Association Manual.  The Symphonic Band was one of only a handful of bands who earned straight 'Superior' ratings at the District IX Concert Assessment in March of 2011.

The Kettle Run Wind Ensemble is the top performing group at Kettle Run.  This by-audition group meets on the 'B' day and has assisted the marching band in earning 'Virginia Honor Band' since opening in 2008.  Kettle Run is 1 of only 3 high schools to achieve the Honor Band status since opening.  The ensemble rehearses and performs Grade IV, V and VI music according to the Virginia Band and Orchestra Director's Association Manual.  The group has performed all across Virginia as well as in Disney World.
